The Environment
Pfaffschwende is a small village located in Landkreis Eichsfeld, a beautiful area in the state of Thuringia. Not far from the geographical center of Germany, namely the village of Flinsberg. Pfaffschwende is located at the foot of the Höhenzuges Gobert not far from the border between Hesse and Thuringia. Before 1990, Germany was divided into East Germany and West Germany and East German soldiers who guarded the border were stationed in the barracks. Remnants of this time can be found everywhere in the area. From the barracks you only have to cross the street for a beautiful forest walk where you have a good chance of seeing deer or foxes.
Below is a small overview of the sights in the area.

At 540 metres long, the trail winds through the treetops, offering a unique perspective on this species-rich habitat.
